ORIGIN has been a Kabukicho landmark since 1993 as Tokyo's first hostess bar built specifically for international guests, at a time when the city's nightlife had little room for those who didn't speak Japanese.
What began as a gathering place for Tokyo's business elite has grown into the city's most respected international hostess bar, welcoming guests from every corner of the world.
We built ORIGIN around three things: remarkable women who genuinely love what they do, an atmosphere that feels nothing like the street outside, and a price that speaks for itself.

Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends or if you wish to request a specific hostess. You can reserve through our website, Instagram DM, or Whatsapp.

If you meet a hostess you particularly like, you can nominate her to sit with you for the evening. Nominations are optional but common, and they create a more personalized experience.
Yes, we accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX) as well as cash in Japanese yen. Please note that we do not accept foreign currencies.
You must be 20 years old or older (Japan’s legal drinking age) to enter.
The basic plan is charged per hour, and you can extend your stay in 30 minutes increments.
Hostesses are here to entertain through conversation, hospitality, and charm. They sit with you, pour drinks, chat, and create a fun and relaxing atmosphere. There are no physical services—this is not an escort club.
No problem! Many of our hostesses and staff speak English, and we specialize in welcoming foreign guests. You can fully enjoy your time even without Japanese skills.
Smart casual is recommended. Please avoid sleeveless shirts, flip-flops, or overly casual attire. We want all guests to feel elegant and comfortable.
Tipping is not required in Japan, and all service charges are included in the bill. However, if you wish to show extra appreciation, some guests order a special drink for the hostess instead of tipping.
